Our HistoryYarrawarrah Physical Culture Club was founded in 1986 by Karen Keene along with the love and support of her best friend and first Open Senior Diane White and several loyal mothers.
It was their dream to run a happy and united club where lessons where conducted in a loving and nurturing environment. An environment where girls and ladies where encouraged to develop self confidence and a positive competitive spirit. As the club continued to grow in numbers and spirit, it wasn't long before the talent of Karen's teaching and her girl's dedication to their Physi brought outstanding results. With 92 Champion Girls, 6 Grand Champion Girls and 140 Team Championships, including a record 18 Open Senior Team Championships, Yarrawarrah is the number one club in the Edith Parsons School of Physical Culture. Karen retired from teaching in 2018 after dedicating 35 years to Physical Culture. However the true success of Yarrawarrah can be seen in the motto held dear to the club's heart since its establishment - fun, friends and fitness. In 2019 Ella Nelson took over the club and the teaching responsibilities. Ella has been attending classes at Yarrawarrah Physi since 1995 and has been assisting Karen teach since 2008. She brings a wealth of experience and dedication to teaching the club. Shae Dale joined as an assistant teacher in 2020 and in 2022 Larni Rassmussen joined as a Junior Teacher. |
